Stafford’s Remembrance Sunday service is on Sunday 8 November 2026 at the Borough War Memorial in Victoria Square. The civic procession leaves the Civic Centre at 10.40am and the event runs to about 12.30pm, finishing with a march past through the town centre. In Stone, the parade sets off from the High Street at 10.30am.

Stafford: Victoria Square

Stafford Borough Council’s event listing gives the running order:

  • 10.40am: the Civic Procession leaves the Civic Centre for the Borough War Memorial.
  • From 10.45am: an open-air Act of Remembrance, with the Last Post, Homage, the Silence and wreath laying.
  • Wreaths are then also laid at the County War Memorial.
  • A March Past and Parade follows through the town centre. The council lists the whole event as running to 12.30pm.

Stone: Granville Square

Stone Town Council’s 2026 events calendar lists:

  • Remembrance Sunday, 8 November: the parade begins in the High Street at 10.30am, with wreath laying at the War Memorial in Granville Square at 10.40am.
  • Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November: 10.45am to 11.15am at the same war memorial.

Both are run by the Royal British Legion in consultation with the town council.

Armistice Day, 11 November

Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day fall on different days this year. The borough council lists its Two Minutes Silence campaign for Wednesday 11 November, 10.45am to 11.15am, on its November events calendar. In Stone the public gathering is at the Granville Square memorial, as above.

The Poppy Appeal launch

The local Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal launches at the Gatehouse Theatre on Monday 19 October at 1.30pm. The theatre’s listing lists it at £0, bookable online or through the box office on 01785 619080.
